Papers of Joan and Betty Rayner, directors of the travelling Australian Children's Theatre between 1948 and 1968, comprising theatre programmes, photographs and newspaper clippings, 1931-1972, relating to theatre tours throughout Australia, and in England, America and Europe. Also poster, brochures, puppet craft sheets, sheet of press comments, and copies of extracts from letters from head teachers.

Joan Rayner and her sister Betty were born in New Zealand and were the founder-directors of the Australian Childrens Theatre. They toured and played the world collecting stories and folk tales for their plays. The Australian Childrens Theatre touring company visited major cities and smaller country towns.
